Draft

Draft — the final text is being prepared.

Draft for review. This is our own account of what we have and have not checked. It is not an independent audit, and we have not yet had the product tested by an accessibility specialist.

In short: we have done some checks and fixed what they found, but we have not had a full accessibility test yet and there are known gaps, listed below. If something does not work for you, email us and we will help.

We want Reckon to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control or magnification. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard most UK public bodies are held to, on this website and in the app. We have not yet met that target or proved that we do. A full audit is planned after launch.

What we have checked

  • An automated check on the website. We have a Lighthouse configuration that we run by hand (it is not part of an automatic build). When we last ran it, on 21 October 2026, the home page scored 100 and the blog index scored 95 out of 100 for accessibility. Automated tools find only a share of real problems, and this covers two pages, so please read it as a rough floor and not as a pass.
  • Text colour contrast in the app. We calculated contrast for the main text and link colours against the page backgrounds in light and dark mode in October 2026 and corrected the ones that fell short. We have not measured every screen.
  • Touch targets. Buttons and links on a phone are made at least 44 pixels tall where we have looked, without changing how the page looks.
  • The basics on the website. Pages are marked as British English, there is a “skip to content” link, interactive elements show a visible outline when you tab to them, the menu and the app’s tab bar can be used with a keyboard, the site follows your reduced-motion setting, and there are light and dark colour schemes.

We use no cookie banner. The site uses cookieless analytics, so there is no banner to get past.

What we know is not good enough yet

  • We have not run a full screen-reader pass (for example VoiceOver on iPhone) over the website, the report page or the purchase tracker.
  • We have not tested with disabled users.
  • Colour contrast in the app has not been measured on every screen, and a few pale text colours on tinted backgrounds are likely to fall short.
  • Some animations in the app may not follow your reduced-motion setting on every screen.
  • Charts and range bars have text alternatives on some screens but not all.
  • Photos and floor plans in a report come from the listing and we cannot write their descriptions.
  • The PDF evidence pack has not been checked for accessibility (tags, reading order).
  • Some buttons and links in the app may still be smaller than the recommended touch size.

We will update this page as we fix things and after any independent testing.
